Kudos to you both for your organizational skills from start to finish; your enthusiasm throughout; and for ensuring that everyone had an enjoyable experience both on and off the bike. Alpine Tours is clearly on its cycling game! And the John/Pierre dynamic duo is the key ingredient that raises the trip from just a cycling trip to a cycling experience! And luck as well, played out in all our favour - the level of cycling within our group; the personalities; and the collective passion to take on the big climbs created a bond that carried us all along with great spirit throughout the entire trip. Just think back to Switzerland, where they pave the goat paths – what a great country. Nothing “Cheesy” about it other than the obvious - Raclette anyone? France was beyond spectacular, with every ride an adventure. . . Highlights for me included, the walking around the team buses at the Annecy time trial, riding anywhere in Provence, riding up Ventoux with 700 thousand of my cycling friends and just being close enough to the front of the pack to see some of the great sprint action. It was the sprints that summed up the group dynamics, a little competitive - just enough to make if fun, but never so serious that it ruined a good time. Conversations at dinner were about the same way, occasionally intense, but always with a smile on everyone’s face. It was truly a great group to spend quality time with. As always, great work by the Alpine Tours team, John, Pierre, Jean-Marc, Roger and let’s not forget Vic. Hope to meet you all again someday, share a good meal, more than a little wine, and a bit of open road. Of course the road would have to have a mighty big hill at the end of it!
